The Chowdhury family is plagued with myriad problems. Moreover, the local goon Bhabotosh has set his eyes on their property and wants to build a housing complex in the land where the Chowdhury mansion stands currently. As the story progresses, in the dawn of Mahalaya, we witness the arrival of a couple, prospective tenants in the Chowdhury mansion.

The new tenants Rudra and Shibani brings about an environment of joy in the family. We get to see that the relationship between the grand-daughter Oli and Apurbo takes a new turn. Meanwhile, the middle son Bimal, informs Bhabotosh that he wants to sell his share.

Shibani comes to know that elder brother Kamal has borrowed a lump sum amount for his business. All family members started questioning Rudra and Shibani. Bhabotosh warns Kamal.

The patriarch of the family, the old father Harimadhav, decides to repay Kamal's loans. But he is dead against selling the Chowdhury mansion. Rudra had a chat with the son in law, Debu. The relationship between the daughter Hnashi and her husband Debu takes a new turn.

The whole family comes to know that Bimal has lost his job. Devastated Bimal tries to take his own life. In the midst of all, Oli and Apurba finds that Bhabotosh has sinister plans to attack on the auspicious Ashtami day.
